This book comprises two translated essays by S. G. Kapsomenos. The first essay, entitled “H ελληνική γλώσσα από τα ελληνιστικά ως τα νεότερα χρόνια” [The Greek language from hellenistic to modern times], is a review of the studies on Post-classical, Medieval and Modern Greek. The second one, which is entitled “H ελληνική γλώσσα στην Aίγυπτο” [The Greek language in Egypt], examines the Greek language, as it was spoken in Egypt in the Hellenistic period.
