Description
Katis and the mouse is a short, amusing folk poem written during the Renaissance, whose theme centres on the cat and mouse game. The poet, probably from Crete, narrates, in a satirical mood, a variation of a well-known tale (familiar from oral folk tradition as well), which has instructive implications regarding relations of power and weakness, deceit and gullibility.
